Bonjour lovely friends, and happy almost Friday. After getting a ton of requests on how I do my everyday makeup, I decided to break down with you one of my most recent looks.
I will be straight-forward and say that I am in no way a makeup pro, I can barely put on bronzer without looking like I got a horrible spray tan, and most days (like 5 days a week!) I don’t put on anything at all. BUT I do love pampering myself, and having a pretty face on makes me feel like I can conquer the world – and isn’t that the whole point of makeup anyways?
This look probably took me less than 10 minutes from start to finish, and only using about less than 10 products. Scroll down to see each of them and how I used them (and you’re able to shop them all at the end of the post).
First up are the eyes. I used to do them after taking care of the skin, but it turns out after seeing a TON of tutorials it is better to do them first in case you need to cover up some powder that flew down on your cheeks, or if you are like me you will want to cover up that black mascara dot you always get on the bridge of your nose… hum hum.
I have never used eyeshadow much before because it always made me feel like too much work to basically look like I have been punched in the eyes, but ever since getting all those Smashbox eye palettes I have ventured out of my comfort zone and am loving it. My favorite shades come from this Golden Hour palette, and I used the shades “lights” and “hotline” (the first two on the bottom left corner).
I have recently started to use a lash primer to give more volume to my eyelashes, and have tested quite a few but this one is AMAZING you guys. You can layer it with your favorite mascara and it will extend your tips and make them so rich and full. Hands down my favorite.
For my face, I have noticed that the least amount of products I put on the better it will hold. Not sure if this might just be in my head (or because I have been obsessing over what is allowed to go on my face after suffering from breakouts and crazy sensitive skin all winter), but these 3 are it. In case you are wondering, no they do not clog your pores and they aren’t heavy on your skin.
IT Cosmetics just came out with the first solid full coverage serum (with SPF 50!) and I have been using absolutely nothing else on my skin. I am LOVING how it covers my hyperpigmentation, and the fact that I don’t need any other concealer is a big win. I am wearing it in the shade “Fair” but have also been testing out the shade “Light” which will be perfect for when my skin has gotten back a little of its summer color!
For bronzer/contour I used Lise Watier’s bronzing powder in “Havana”, which is the perfect shade for that golden goddess vibe, and Pixi by Petra’s beauty blush duo in “Peach Honey” (in the photo below). I kid you not the same night I went for dinner with a friend and she told me I looked like I was glowing from inside. Exactly what I need to hear to never EVER stop using a product!
I always get a lot of questions about what lipstick I love, and to be honest I love a lot. Lipsticks are definitely the type of makeup I buy the most, and I have a flower vase filled with every single shade you can imagine. For this look, I actually mixed a couple of colors together. My absolute favorite at the moment is “Whipped caviar” by NYX (the shade on the left side), and I mixed it with MAC’s “More to love” lip pencil that I used on top and across my entire lips (the shade on the right side).
Before I applied any make up on, I sprayed Smashbox’s primer water on my face, and that’s also the last thing I always do after I finish since it doubles as a setting spray too. It is the best and is so light you don’t even feel it (and it helps hydrating your skin which is HUGE to me when the weather has been so dry recently)!
Also not pictured is the eyebrow pencil I use to fill them in, but it is linked right below 🙂 And this whole outfit is coming to the blog on Sunday so stick around if you are interested in knowing where you can find the pieces!
