Happy Daylight Saving day!! It is almost 6pm and still sunny, and making everyone feel like spring is right around the corner! Now if only the cold would go away too…
As you might already know if you’re following that I had a 24h trip to Montreal on Monday – totally last minute! AKA I had no place to sleep and my train was leaving within 6h of agreeing to go… a situation that can seriously stress someone out! Especially me, since I need to have everything ready days in advance (I hate winging it)…
Luckily, I was able to get a (massive) room at the Intercontinental Hotel located right in Old Montreal, and 15 mins walking from my breakfast event the next morning! I’m pretty sure even if I tried I wouldn’t have done better. The luxurious hotel has its own restaurant and absinth bar – which I personally love the taste of, and when I got there at 11pm the bar was packed! Too bad I had to wake up at 7am the next morning (and I need every minute of beauty sleep I can get). Oh, but FYI, I was starving when I arrived so I ordered room service and their curry pineapple pizza is to DIE FOR. There is nothing quite like being able to take a shower and pamper yourself and then get a knock on the door with your food ready! Can I have room service back home??
The room was on the top floor (26th!!) and had the most impressive view of Montreal, but I am terrified of height so I will be honest and say I didn’t even try to look down… It rained the entire time I was in the city, which only gave the room a more cozy feel. They had it decorated with touches of burgundy, gold, dark wood and dark marble and I felt like I was sleeping in a castle! And (don’t laugh) it turns out I matched the room to a tee! First, my jacket and boots ended up matching my new HEYS luggage, which was not planned and I only realized it after looking at the photo, but then the room that just took it to another level!
If you are still reading until here, first of all kuddos and thank you! And second of all, you got to the point where I tell you that you can WIN the carryon luggage I took with me to Montreal (available in burgundy, navy, or olive and valued at $200)!!! I packed everything I needed in it, and left the big one at home for longer trips. I do travel a lot, and this small one is going to become my best friend. It is SO light and has a place for everything you want to take with you. Plus, I mean, the mix of old fashion and modern vibes is just what I always wanted! You can enter at the end of this article, but hurry because it is only open for 48h!
PS: I spent Tuesday morning having breakfast at Maggie Oakes with the Caudalie team, and left with a bunch of beauty products that I have been using every day since and can’t even remember what I used before!
