Unexpected trend: kimono for Fall

Currently being the laziest person ever, although to my defence it is Sunday, it is raining, and the temperature outside is the coldest it’s been since April. I don’t know about you, but as much as I love summer, all I can think of right now is a cup of hot chocolate, a blanket, a movie (probably one I’ve seen a million times, cue Titanic or The Parent Trap), and not moving for the rest of the day. Rainy days are my favorite!

This outfit was clearly NOT meant for a rainy day, but is so perfect for the colder days. I am not a huge kimono-lover, but this one caught my eye and I figured I’d give it a try. The fabric is so light and soft (it basically feels like you’re wearing a blanket… Maybe I should go wrap myself in it right now?), and I loved the idea of wearing it off one shoulder. For some reason, things feel more comfortable when they can be worn off-shoulder!

Real talk: I saw these jeans online and absolutely loved them! They are the perfect shade to match with everything in your closet – some jeans just are too “blue” if you know what I mean. But, in all honesty, here’s what I really thought when I put them on: the pockets are tiny (you can’t fit your whole hand in them) and I wish they were slightly more high-waisted! Don’t get me wrong, they fit great and aren’t low waist at all, but on me they hit just a tiny bit too low for my maximum comfort. They are described as mid-rise, and they are – so if this is what you like then these jeans are made for you! Personally, I like when pants rest just a little higher on the hips (I have this fear of having a “plumber moment” happen to me… and no one wants to see that).
BUT I am going to keep wearing them, because A) I am a big “repeat offender” and like to wear things until they fall apart, and B) I might have been a bit bloated that morning (I did eat a ton of fish tacos the night before) and that might not have helped with the fit… Ahem ahem.
