How to be the best dressed wedding guest

Since we kicked off wedding season, what more appropriate than a round up of the best outfits for all the ceremonies and receptions coming up? Deciding what to wear is always stressful, unless you are part of the bridal party. And while we all put more pressure on ourselves to look our best, there is only really one rule: don’t wear white. Everything else is fair game.

I’m always partial to maxi dresses, just because there are so few occasions where it is acceptable to show up completely made up and in a floor-length gown and get away with it. This delicate pink wrap dress captured my heart the moment I saw it (I went to 4 different stores to find it, only to realize it was an online exclusive…..). I am not usually a fan of high-low dresses, but I guess only fools don’t change their mind because this cut makes the dress even better. Show off those heels and tan legs, girl!

Jumpsuits are the easiest way to look effortlessly chic – and not fear a windy day! I’ve posted about this waist crop jumpsuit here and why I love it, but I don’t even think it needs an explanation. The nude undertones make it appropriate for a day or night event, and the stripes make it “not white” if you know what I mean.
But you can go any direction when picking out a jumpsuit, bright colors are always fun and flattering on most skin tones, while muted pastels are softer and more feminine – just be careful when you drink wine!

Shorter dresses are clearly the obvious choice, for so many reasons but mainly because it can get HOT outside this time of year. I tend to prefer halter dresses or with some kind of higher neckline, to balance the shortness of the hemline, but of course to each their own! Long sleeves can also be extremely flattering with short dresses, think JLO vibes. And as much as I would recommend putting your hair up if you wear something with a high neckline, I loved wearing this floral mini halter dress with my hair down and making it more casual. That’s the beauty of versatile clothes.
